The judicial investigation of the former chairman of the Sabail district Municipality, Ahmet Huseynov, has begun.

APA reports that the indictment was announced at the session presided over by judge Muhammad Akbarov at the Baku Court of Serious Crimes.

It is stated in the indictment that Ahmed Huseynov attempted to seize land plots of the state and municipality, worth 1 million 824 thousand manats, as well as falsification of official documents, as part of a group of persons with whom he was an official.

The case materials show that Ahmad Huseynov hid the seal and stamp of Sabail municipality by not handing it over to the new mayor elected in 2010 or to the Center for Working with Municipalities of the Ministry of Justice.

In 2019, together with an acquaintance, he was used to prepare a fake document.

According to the mentioned act, the former mayor was charged with 29.178.4 (attempted fraud in particular), 309.1 (exceeding official authority), 313 (falsification of office), 320.1 (making or using a forged document) and 326.1 of the Criminal Code of the Criminal Code. (looting or destroying official documents, stamps, seals) was charged.

The former mayor pleaded not guilty in court.

It should be noted that Ahmet Huseynov is not in prison, but a restraining order has been issued against him not to go anywhere else.

Sabail Municipality and the State Service for Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy were recognized as victims in the case.
