The family members of Vilyam Hajiyev, the former executive head of Imishli, filed a cassation appeal.

According to the information obtained by APA, the complainants - Vilyam Hajiyev's wife Julyetta Ibrahimova and son Mahammad Hajiyev - want the return of their confiscated property.

The family members of the convicted executive claim that those properties were not acquired through crime.

In the complaint submitted to the Supreme Court, Julyetta Ibrahimova asked to be freed from confiscation of her apartments worth 5,218,000 manats and 2 passenger cars, while Mahammad Hajiyev asked for the Land Rover car worth 126,000 manats to be released from confiscation.

The case will be investigated under the chairmanship of judge Aziz Seyidov.

It should be noted that Vilyam Hajiyev was arrested during the operation carried out by the State Security Service.

The former head of the executive was charged with Criminal Code 179.3.2 (massive embezzlement or waste, 308.1 (abuse of official powers), 311.3.3 (taking bribes (passive bribery), when committed in large amounts) 313 (position forgery) and 228 (illegal possession of weapons) articles.

Vilyam Hajiyev was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment by the Baku Court of Serious Crimes.

According to the verdict, the property of 5,344,000 manats registered in the name of the family members of the former executive head was confiscated to the state.

The Baku Court of Appeal upheld the sentence without changing it.
