British singer Elton John will perform his last concerts in New Zealand, Xinhua reported.

The singer, whose real name is Reginald Kenneth Dwye, will perform in Christchurch on Tuesday as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

It will be his first appearance in the city in 30 years.

Elton John thanks the wrong city after concert

John will perform two more concerts on Friday and Saturday in the largest city of New Zealand - Auckland.

"The artist will bid a warm farewell to the country he visited for the first time five decades ago," say the organizers.

Elton John started in September 2018 the last world concert tour of his career, named after one of his most famous compositions.

Nearly 300 concerts were originally planned.

The tour was supposed to end with four shows in London's O2 Arena in December 2020. However, the plans were hindered first by the singer's illness, and then by the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused his performances to be postponed more than once, BTA recalls.
