The majority of CITIZENS do not like the arbitration method, believing that the court's job is only to put people in prison, it has been stated.

This was stated yesterday January 22, 2023 by the Resident Magistrate Mfawidhi of the Tanganyika District Court in the Katavi region, Glory Mwakihaba at the launch of the Law Week held in the district at Mpanda Ndogo Primary School, Majalila Village, Tongwe District.

Mwakihaba has used the opportunity of the celebration to educate the public that arbitration is the best and easiest way to resolve disputes around the world, compared to normal court proceedings.

He said that cases are delayed and take a long time to complete, because of following the rules and procedures, an act that hampers the economy of individuals and the Nation as a whole.

"The citizen will waste a lot of his time attending court and will not have time to do productive activities," he said.

However, he has said that in the short time they have worked in the district, they have found that acts of taking the law into their own hands, incidents of sexual violence, murders, childhood pregnancies are incidents that lead to repeated occurrences, so they will focus on providing more education to the people.
