SOME doctors at Manyoni District Hospital, in Singida region have been complained about entering work while drunk and unable to attend to patients, especially those who arrive at night.

The complaints were made by the citizens at a public meeting, which was called by the Head of the Singida Region, Peter Serukamba, to listen and provide solutions to the problems they face

Citizen Prisca Maleta said on January 4 this year, she took her child who had a broken finger, they arrived at the hospital at 3:00 PM and stayed until 7:00 PM without being attended to.

Instead, he was told that if he lives in the neighborhood, they should be given the utensils that were supposed to be used to serve the patient and boil them because they were dirty.

With the support of a large number of citizens who were at the meeting, Maleta has asked for help to remove the nuisance because many citizens are affected by the situation.

Serukamba has instructed the Institute for Prevention and Combating of Corruption (TAKUKURU) in the district to investigate the performance of employees, including doctors in the hospital and to be sent a report of the investigation on Friday, next week.

He has said that the procedure of meeting the citizens, listening to their concerns and providing them with solutions on the spot is sustainable and that he will meet the citizens in each district once a month.

Despite this, the complaints that dominated the meeting were land disputes, where a decision was reached that the regional land commissioner should collaborate with the district's land officials through all land disputes and make recommendations on ways to end them including reconciliation.

And the Director of the Council, Fadhili Chimsala.

He was instructed to cooperate with his officials to list all the disputes regarding the ownership of the farms and their cleaning, call each person involved and talk to them in a gaubaga manner until they reach an agreement, which should be written and signed by all parties involved.

While the Land Commissioner has been given a period of two months that will end on March 30 this year to have completed the work, the Director has been asked to complete the work by February 20 this year.
