[Reporter Hong Ruiqin/Tainan Report] Tainan City Cultural Center New Year's special exhibition "Hometown Way" opened today (14th), exhibiting the works of Wu Qianyi, Walking Grass Agricultural Art Troupe Chen Hansheng, Liu Xingyou, Cheng Renpei, and Cai Zongyou, rich and diverse. Strong taste of the New Year, the best time to visit during the Chinese New Year!

The works in the "Hometown Way" special exhibition are full of New Year's flavor.

Curator Yang Jiaxuan introduced the exhibition, starting from "food" to spy on the cultural evolution of food. Taiwanese society has presented a "hodgepodge" of diversity since ancient times. "Taiwanese food" has also been named and defined in different time and space backgrounds. From snacks to table banquets, eating habits are mixed with personal and social collective memories, and also present the historical evolution process of confrontation, compromise, and regeneration in culture. Only by breaking away from the imagination of "pure" and "orthodox" culture, change to A "diversified" or even "unreal" perspective can more accurately describe the current identity and memory of a society.

Wu Qianyi is good at creating with washi tape, and collages various daily landscapes and appearances of the times. Elements such as Taiwan's desk culture, local specialty fruits, and Tainan ice fruit parlors are all derived from her observation of people's livelihood culture.

Walking Grass Farmers/Art Troupe tries to explore various possibilities between farming and art, starting from farming and cooking, re-examines the role of agriculture in society, and connects the history of crop production, environmental ecology and places through behavioral interactions and workshops memory.

The "Hometown Way" special exhibition at the Tainan City Cultural Center is on view from now until February 5.

Cheng Renpei's food research and creation spans environmental and humanistic issues, making food not only limited to the types of ingredients or cooking methods, but also the factors behind the food culture.

Cai Zongyou creates in the form of paintings, the subject matter comes from the records of daily life, depicts the existing scenery from a whimsical perspective, presents a broken, strange and interesting new scenery, seems to be out of common sense, but accurately depicts the contemporary Taiwan appearance of life.

"Hometown Way" will be on display from now until February 5 (the museum will be closed during the Spring Festival from January 21 to January 23); at 10 am on January 28, the Walking Grass Agronomic Troupe will hold the "Thinking Box Project-Where is Want Want" edition printing workshop.
