Sharad Yadav was first elected to Parliament at the tender age of 27.

Sharad Yadav's departure will be considered a big loss for Indian politics.

He was born in Madhya Pradesh, a month and a half before independence.

He was very fast in reading and writing.

Was a student of science and did engineering.

He got gold medal in college.

He started politics in student life and was the president of the student union.

He was elected MP in 1974 itself.

Many leaders had emerged after the JP revolution, but Jayaprakash Narayan had given ticket to Sharad Yadav first.

He was in jail at that time as a student leader.

While in jail, he contested elections and during this time he got the election symbol of 'Haldhar Kisan'.

At the tender age of 27, he reached the Parliament after getting elected.

In the year 1976, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi came up with a proposal that the tenure of the Lok Sabha be extended to 6 years, when two MPs resigned, including Sharad Yadav.

Talking about political career, Sharad Yadav was a little senior to Lalu Yadav, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Nitish Kumar.

He was the only leader who was MP from Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and UP.

He was elected to the Lok Sabha from three states.

Sharad Yadav's name will be specifically mentioned in the implementation of the Mandal Commission.

Sharad Yadav had put pressure on the then PM VP Singh for this.

In this case, you can keep Ram Vilas Paswan at number two.

To break the politics of Mandal, Sharad Yadav raised his voice for the deprived and backward, after that it was implemented.

Sharad Yadav resigned when he was accused of taking a bribe of 5 lakhs in the Jain hawala case, although he was later acquitted.

He also played an important role in making Lalu Yadav the CM of Bihar.

VP Singh was the PM then, he wanted Ram Sundar Das but Sharad Yadav played the role of 'Chanakya', prepared for voting in which Lalu Yadav went and became the CM.

However, Mulayam Singh says that during the time of HD Deve Gowda, there was talk of becoming PM.

At that time Sharad and Lalu Yadav had united and Mulayam was not allowed to become the PM.

There was tension between Deve Gowda and Lalu Yadav.

When Deve Gowda became PM, Lalu Yadav also had a chance and Mulayam Singh Yadav was also a contender for it.

Sharad also used to act as a referee in between.

Sharad later merged his party with Lalu's party.

At one time these two even contested against each other, in which they were defeated in the second time.

Leaders keep coming and going.

Sharad Yadav may be called Pro Mandal, but he had his own views on women's reservation.

His statement about "Parakati Mahila" was in the news a lot.

Sharad Yadav's argument was that there should be a category for those women who belong to OBC.

He talked about the rights of these women but after that he was criticized a lot.

Many people said that she is anti woman.

Today Sharad ji is not there.

With the demise of Mulayam Singh Yadav and now Sharad Yadav, the generation of socialists is slowly dying out.

Now only Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar are representing this generation.

Lohiaist ideology is becoming extinct from politics.
