The snow that has fallen in the country in the last 5 days has led to the formation of a fairly high snow cover in most regions.

APA reports that Asif Verdiyev, director of the Hydrology Center of the National Hydrometeorology Service, said that the precipitation in the Balaken-Sheki region of the Greater Caucasus was 50 percent more than last year and the ten-day norm, and the height of the snow cover was up to 22 cm.

In the Oguz-Gabala region, as a result of precipitation exceeding the ten-day norm by 30 percent, the height of the snow cover reached 19 cm.

"As a result of heavy snowfall in the Guba-Khachmaz and Lankaran-Astara regions, the average height of the snow cover reached 32 cm in the Guba-Khachmaz region, and 35 cm in the Lankaran-Astara region."

A. Verdiyev also noted that the observed weather conditions had a positive effect on the wetness of the rivers.

An increase in the water level was observed in some rivers and in the lower reaches of Kur due to the falling precipitation.

"In Vilashchay-Shikhlar, Lankaranchay-Sifidor, Zeyamchay-Aghbaslar, which flows from Lankaran-Astara region, Zeyamchay-Aghbaslar, which flows from the territory of the Little Caucasus, the water level has increased by 1 cm, in Kura-Surra area by 13 cm, in Kura-Shirvan by 4, in Kura-Salyan by 19, in Kura-Banka by 6 cm. ".

According to the official of the service, as a result of the gradual rise in the temperature regime and the gradual melting of the snow falling in the mountainous areas, the water level in the rivers, especially in the rivers flowing from the Lankaran-Astara region, is expected to increase.
