The trial in the criminal case of Arzuman Fazilov, accused of murdering his ex-wife, has ended in Baku.

APA reports that the verdict was read in the process held at the Baku Court of Serious Crimes.

According to the verdict, Arzuman Fazilov was sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment.

According to the indictment, on July 15 of this year at 20:00, the district prosecutor's office received information about the murder of Vusala Aliyeva, born in 1982, in a private house located in Bina settlement, Khazar district.

Based on the preliminary investigations, reasonable suspicions were established that the victim's ex-husband, Arzuman Fazilov, born in 1978, intentionally killed Vusala Aliyeva by inflicting multiple injuries with a knife during a dispute between them on the basis of personal relations.

Arzuman Fazilov was charged by the investigative body under Article 120.2.4 (murder with special cruelty) of the Criminal Code.
