The General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Emergency Situations released joint information about the fire in the "Sadarak" shopping center

According to APA, the information says:

"As reported, on January 8, at around 18:00, a fire broke out in the "Sadarak" shopping center located in Garadag district.

Necessary investigative measures have been taken regarding the incident.

During the preliminary investigation, it was established that 27 shops located in the 15-16th rows of the shopping center with a total area of ​​800 square meters were intentionally set on fire by the resident of Baku, Afgan Abdullayev, resulting in a large amount of damage to the tenants and entrepreneurs.

In connection with the fact, a criminal case was initiated in the Operational-Investigative Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations under Articles 186.2.1 (deliberate destruction or damage to property by causing massive damage) and 186.2.2 (deliberate destruction or damage to property by burning) of the Criminal Code.

Afgan Abdullayev was arrested as a suspect in the case.

At the moment, operational-investigative measures are being continued."
