In a new interview with Anderson Cooper, which Harry gave ahead of the release of his memoir Spare, he described his stepmother Queen Camilla as "dangerous" and "villainous" because of the need to rehabilitate her image after the catastrophic collapse of his parents' (Diana and Charles) marriage.

Prince Harry said his stepmother had an "open willingness" to trade information with the British press - which made her a threat to the royal family.

Harry also said that he and William initially did not want her to marry their father, at the time Prince of Wales Charles, writes express.co.uk.

When Harry was asked why he and his brother didn't want King Charles to marry Camilla, he said: "We didn't think it was necessary. We thought it would do more harm than good. Why go this far if there is no need for this?

We wanted him to be happy.

And we saw how happy he was with her.

So it was "good" at the time, says the Duke of Sussex.

Camilla and Charles married in 2005 in a civil ceremony with the blessing of Queen Elizabeth II.

And in May 2023, the Queen Consort will be crowned together with her husband, King Charles III.
