The Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Hsinchu County Government today invited famous local calligraphers, printmaking teachers, and the first prize winners of the Calligraphy County Magistrate Cup to gather at the art museum to wave their pens.

The event was organized by Yang Wenke, the county magistrate, together with Li Anyu, director of the Cultural Bureau, Lai Huanlin, executive director of the Deep Plow Calligraphy Education Executive Committee, and six famous calligraphers Hu Guolong, Wang Dequan, Zhuang Mingzhong, Li Yuanji, Chen Xiuzhen and Song Zhaoxian. The Spring Festival couplets "New Image of the County Exhibition" kicked off.

Yang Wenke shared his journey of learning calligraphy. He said that when he started learning calligraphy in recent years, he would tremble when he started to write. Many people like calligraphy.

The event also invited the first prize winners of the "111 Hsinchu County Magistrate Cup National Calligraphy Competition" Zhao Shixiong and teacher Lin Yongzhong, as well as three students including Gao Weixi, Gong Yuying and Luo Hejia to participate in writing Spring Festival couplets; among them, Gao Weixi, the youngest, was influenced by his sister , fell in love with neat hard-tipped pen calligraphy, and has been learning calligraphy for more than 2 years, and has also emerged in major calligraphy competitions, allowing the calligrapher's dream to germinate.

On the spot, Zeng Xuemei, a local printmaker in Hsinchu, made silk-printed red envelopes for the Year of the Rabbit, and Mr. Tian Wenbi made block-printed Spring Festival couplets, allowing villagers to experience the beauty of silk-printed and block-printed traditional printing.
