A Christmas celebration was held in the Alexander Nevsky Russian Orthodox Church located in Ganja.

According to the local office of APA, according to the Orthodox calendar, on the eve of January 7, the day of the birth of Jesus, Orthodox Christians living in Ganja celebrated the arrival of their holy holiday together in the church.

First, the congratulations of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the Christmas holiday were read.

Later, the religious staff of the Alexander Nevsky Church performed rites related to the birth of Jesus.

The Orthodox lit candles in the church, prayed for peace, tranquility and happiness and drank water from the cross.

Prayers were also read for the souls of those who died in the Patriotic War.
