Alexander Lukashenko today visited the Obuz-Lesnovsky military training ground near Baranavichy.

According to official sources, a Russian-Belarusian group of troops is being trained there.

"The units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, together with the units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, conducted exercises, command and staff training as part of the training of the allied forces," an unnamed representative of the Russian Armed Forces reported to Lukashenka.

According to him, joint exercises of motorized rifle and tank units, special forces and air defense took place.

Also, the representative of the Russian Armed Forces stated that at this stage, the Russian units are ready to "perform their assigned tasks."

"We are doing a common cause," Lukashenka said after listening to the Russian officer's report on the completion of the combat coordination of parts of the Russian-Belarusian army group.

In the second half of October, echelons with Russian soldiers began to arrive at the main Belarusian training grounds.

At the same time, the redeployment and rotation of the Belarusian military in different parts of the country is observed.

Official sources do not give a complete picture of what is happening.

The Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground is one of the largest military camps of the joint Russian-Belarusian group.

We monitored the condition of this and other Belarusian landfills in November of last year.

The photos from January 1, 2023, even before Lukashenka's visit, show a large tent camp and several parking lots for equipment.

All this is located on an area of at least 260,000 square meters, which is about the size of 36 football fields.

In the picture taken on December 2, 2022, we can see the field camp itself in more detail, as well as the parking lots for equipment.

Externally and territorially, the camp has not changed significantly since November 2022.

A military field hospital and a training center are still in operation.

From the pictures, it is noticeable how gradually more and more military equipment and parking places for it appear.

Reports of the active arrival of Russian troops in Belarus appeared in mid-October.

On October 10, Alexander Lukashenko announced that he had agreed with Vladimir Putin on the deployment of a joint regional grouping of troops "in connection with the escalation on the western borders of the "union state".

He also repeated once again that Ukraine is planning to launch attacks on the territory of Belarus - Minsk was allegedly warned about this "through unofficial channels".

As Brigadier General Aleksey Gromau, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said at a briefing on December 29, the probability of a new attack on Ukraine from the territory of Belarus still remains low.

"The enemy continues to raise its level of training, conducting exercises on Belarusian training grounds, where there are now up to 11,000 personnel and more than 400 units of military equipment," said Aleksei Gromau.

According to his information, the number of the Russian group deployed in Belarus, the Bryansk and Kursk regions is half as much as in February 2022: 22,000 people against 45,500 of those who attacked Kyiv in February.

"Even if all Belarusian combat units from the ground forces and special operations forces are involved, the joint grouping of the aggressor's troops will number about 30,000 people, which is still less than the number that took part in a full-scale invasion," Gromov explained.

He also stated that all stocks of ammunition for artillery systems and MLRS, which were created in the interests of the Russian Federation before the attack on Ukraine, have been exported from Belarus.

At the same time, according to Alexei Gromov, Russia is expanding its control over military airfields in Belarus.
