The number of Belarusians in Poland has already exceeded the number of inhabitants of Rechytsia (almost 67 thousand inhabitants).

It is noted that the Polish side recorded two peaks of Belarusian migration.

The first was "the period after the falsified elections of 2020", the second "took place after the beginning of Russian aggression in Ukraine."

According to the submitted data, out of 68,684 Belarusian citizens living in Poland, 30,421 have permanent residence permits, 28,071 have temporary ones, 3,682 have additional protection, 933 have long-term EU residence permits, 634 have temporary protection, 353 - refugee status, 590 - other grounds for staying in the country.

From August 9, 2020 to November 30, 2022, 5,534 citizens of Belarus applied for international protection in Poland.

Since 2021, Belarusians have become the largest national group in terms of the number of such appeals.

At the same time, 20 Belarusian citizens were denied international protection in 2021-2022.

After the start of full-scale Russian aggression and until October 31 last year, 9,514 Belarusians entered Poland from the territory of Ukraine, the Central Bureau of Statistics notes.
