As a result of the control measures carried out last week by the State Environmental Security Service together with the Water Transport Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the use of 4752 is prohibited by law in the section of the Caspian Sea belonging to the Republic of Azerbaijan and in the country's internal water bodies (reservoirs, rivers, canals, collectors, etc.). 86 meter-long synthetic nets and numerous fishing tools were found and collected.

APA reports that Hikmet Alizadeh, head of the State Environmental Security Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, said this at a press conference dedicated to the end of the year.

He said that during 2020-2022, as a result of joint control measures conducted by the State Environmental Security Service and the Water Transport Police Department, a total of 1,343 acts, 715 "Protocols on administrative errors" were drawn up against law breakers, 760,000 manat fines and natural damage was applied, and at the same time, 3100 pieces of synthetic nets with a length of 180 thousand meters were removed from water bodies and neutralized:

A fine of 00 manats was imposed, the amount of damage to nature was determined at 37520.6 manats.

75 cases were sent to relevant law enforcement agencies for action, 69 cases were sent to executive and probation departments, and 17 cases were sent to courts.

During the raids, 23 boats, 982 synthetic nets with a length of 47,334 meters, 144 nets, 190 baskets and 2,461 illegally caught fish were found and seized in the Caspian Sea and in the country's internal water bodies.
