The restoration of the Topkhana forest, which was destroyed by the Armenians in 1988, has been started.

According to APA, the head of the Forestry Development Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Khaliqverdi Huseynov, said this at a press conference dedicated to the end of the year.

He said that the planting of new trees had already started in that area last year.

Also, tree seeds were sown in the area:

"This process will continue and the Topkhana forest will be restored. Initially, we have planted oak, vales, and mountain oak trees in that area. Also, employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources are conducting an analysis in the forest. Depending on the results of the analysis, proposals will be sent to the relevant institutions. Ministry employees are also in Lachin and Shusha. "The process of laying green strips is being carried out. 49 thousand seedlings were brought from Turkey to be planted in the freed areas."
