One of those who threw shoes at the statue of genius composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli was fined and the other was arrested.

Head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, senior police lieutenant Zeyni Huseynov told APA about this:

"On January 3 of this year, video footage showing two young people throwing shoes at the statue of genius composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov in front of the National Conservatory was shared on the social network.

The images were examined by police officers and with the measures taken, 21-year-old Ismayilov Elvin Elgun and 17-year-old Jafarov Farid Fakhreddin were identified and detained.

During the investigation, Elvin Ismayilov admitted that on January 1 this year around 3:40 p.m., while passing by the National Conservatory in a drunken state, he threw the shoes in his bag in the direction of the statue in order to joke with his friend Farid Jafarov.

In connection with the fact, an administrative offense protocol was drawn up with the relevant articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses against both persons, Farid Jafarov was fined, and Elvin Ismayilov was administratively arrested for 15 days by the decision of the Court.

The person who threw shoes on the statue of genius composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli located in Nasimi district of Baku city has been identified.

Police Lieutenant Nurlan Aliyev, an employee of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, informed APA about this.

Nurlan Aliyev said that legal measures have been taken against that person: "That person has been identified, invited to the police body and legal measures have been taken."
