The Ministry of Water has instructed the National Water Fund (NWF) to provide emergency funds of Sh 100 million for the construction of a deep well drilling project in Wami Sokoine area (Wami Ranch - Sokoine), Mvomero District in Morogoro region. which the residents of those areas are using unsafe water from ponds.

Water Minister Jumaa Aweso gave the order in Morogoro to the leadership of the fund during a visit to visit, inspect and launch water projects.

"There is an area of ​​Wami Sokoine Ranch, if you go to Dodoma, there are people there who are always struggling with water, they take water from ponds for domestic use.

"This is no, the Honorable President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has instructed us at the Ministry of Water our specific responsibility for people to get water," said Aweso.

Due to this situation, he instructed the fund to provide emergency funds of Sh100 million and hand it over to the Morogoro Clean Water and Sanitation Authority (MORUWASA), for the drilling of deep wells to start immediately in the area.

Aweso said that the President's mission is to see that urban and rural citizens get clean and safe water, so he instructed the Executive Director of Moruwasa to manage the matter within a short time.

"The government has invested a lot of money in water projects and the aim is to ensure that people have access to water services and now let's speed up the delivery of services, so that things go smoothly," said Aweso.

And the Acting Manager of the Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) Morogoro Region, Engineer Sospeter Lutonja, said that the responsibility for the management of the provision of water services in the area is under Moruwasa.

For his part, the Executive Director of Moruwasa, Engineer Tamim Katakweba said that after being entrusted with water management in the area, a feasibility study has already been done for digging a deep water well and submitting requests for funds so that the work can start immediately.
