The Decree "On additional measures in the field of improving the social welfare of the population" signed by President Ilham Aliyev ensures the implementation of the fourth social reform package in the last five years in our country and the transition to a new stage of social reform in the new year.

According to the information given to APA by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the minimum monthly wage has been increased by 15 percent from January 1, 2023, from 300 manats to 345 manats.



The monthly tariff (position) salaries of employees working in the fields financed from the state budget will also be adjusted to this Decree within one month, and the minimum wage increase will provide increases in wages for all levels of the unified tariff table (VTC).

In general, the salary increase of the minimum wage and VTC workers will cover 700,000 people.

The minimum wage exceeds the living wage (246 manats) determined for this year by 40.2 percent.

According to the new Decree, the minimum pension will be increased to 280 manats, allowances and scholarships will be increased.

In this regard, the Cabinet of Ministers will prepare its proposals within ten days and submit them to the head of state.

Thus, the amount of the minimum monthly pension will be increased by 16.7 percent from 240 manats to 280 manats.

This increase will cover up to 100,000 pensioners.

In the last 4 years, as part of the revolutionary reforms in the social sphere, the minimum wage was increased 2.7 times from 130 manats to 345 manats, and the minimum pension was increased 2.5 times from 110 manats to 280 manats.

In general, an additional 750 million manat funds are planned for new increases in social payments this year.

Those increases will cover 1.9 million citizens.
