Although it was damaged by fire, it has a mother-style roof and Western-style roof trusses, and the wooden window frames are elegantly decorated. , because the building is located in the access path of passenger vehicles in the transshipment center after the railway is elevated, it will be restored and reused in the future, and it will become an image building at the entrance of Mudu.

The Cultural Bureau of the Chiayi City Government stated that the building had been listed and tracked before the fire. After the disaster, the Cultural Bureau, together with experts and scholars, conducted an on-site survey and evaluation. It was believed that although the fire caused serious damage to the structure, the main frame and structural style of the building were not consistent. It can still be repaired and restored to highlight its craftsmanship value and the historical positioning of Chiayi's early station transportation.

The owner of the building, Guo Zhangxiufeng, and his son, Guo Tianzhi, took the initiative to apply to the Cultural Affairs Bureau to register the historic building, expressing their willingness to preserve the building, and hoped that after renovation, it would serve as an explanatory and guiding space for the historical context of railway transportation, forest railway, and sugar railway.

It was a delivery shop named "Nanguo Company" in the transportation industry group at that time. , freight, sugar transportation, material transportation and other co-constructed locations.

Guo Tianzhi said that the wooden house was purchased from Zheng Yourong, then chairman of Chiayi Contract Transportation Co., Ltd. in 1991. After moving in, his mother ran the barber shop and provided the Chiayi City Spinal Injury Association with the meeting place.

In response to the flooding, the interior was raised and tiled, and the indoor wiring was updated twice, but no major changes were made. The whole building is a 2-story building made of Taiwanese cypress.

Liao Zhizhong, a member of the Cultural Resources Committee, pointed out that the building is located at the back station of Chiayi Railway Station. After the railway is elevated in the future, the only remaining building related to railway transportation is an all-wood structure. It once witnessed the history of transportation stores during the Japanese colonial period and can be connected in series. Another historic building in the same area, "Chiayi Railway Warehouse", echoes each other, fully presenting the functions of railway transportation and storage.

At present, the building has entered judicial proceedings due to the fire. The Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that it will assist the owner to carry out emergency support and protection scaffolding projects to reduce the damage speed of the building.
