[Reporter Zhan Shihong/Yunlin Report] Since 2007, the Yunlin County Government has designated Huang Haidai's birthday as "Yunlin Puppet Show Day" in recognition of Master Huang Haidai's outstanding contribution to the inheritance, preservation and development of puppetry. Today is Huang Haidai On the master's 123rd birthday, the county government held a Puppet Day commemorative event to commemorate Huang Haidai's spirit of passing on the arts, and also encouraged the younger generation of artists to maintain the tradition of respecting teachers and dedicating their work to pass on the skills in their hands.

Zhang Lishan, the county magistrate, said that in order to continue Huang Haidai's spirit of passing on the arts, the county government promoted the rooting program to go deep into the school. There are more than 70 schools in the county and tens of thousands of students are learning puppetry.

The "Puppet Show Learning Center" actively built in Huwei is expected to be opened in 2023. The Learning Center is of great importance to the promotion of the traditional art of hand puppetry and the development of the puppet show industry. It can provide professional space, hire art teaching teachers and collect cultural and historical resources. Let the traditional culture take root downwards, keep the work of teaching and learning uninterrupted, and integrate the traditional culture of puppetry with international puppetry.

Through the puppet theater, the creator of the "Cat on the Roof" three-dimensional painting in Huwei Dingxi Community, the late painter Huang Yufang, today also presented the portrait of Huang Haidai created by him to the county government for preservation by his widow, fulfilling the creator's wish.
