The Prosecutor General's Office of Belarus sent a criminal case to the court in relation to Roman Pratasevich, Stepan Putila and Yan Rudzik, the press service of the agency reports.

When sending the criminal case to the court, the prosecutor's office, in the interests of the state, filed a lawsuit against the defendants to cover property damage for a total amount of more than 30 million rubles.

In relation to Putila and Rudik, who are being tried in absentia, a measure of restraint in the form of detention was chosen in absentia.

Pratasevich, who "fulfilled the conditions of the pre-trial cooperation agreement signed with him in full", remains under house arrest.

All three defendants are charged with:

  • inciting social enmity and discord (Part 3 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code of Belarus);

  • organization of mass riots, training and other preparation of persons to participate in them (Part 1 and Part 3 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code of Belarus);

  • organization of group actions that grossly violate public order and are combined with obvious disobedience to the legal requirements of representatives of the authorities, training and other preparation of persons to participate in them (Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code of Belarus);

  • public calls for the seizure of state power, an act of terrorism, other actions aimed at harming the national security of the Republic of Belarus (Part 3, Article 361 of the Criminal Code of Belarus);

  • creation of an extremist formation and its leadership (Part 1 of Art. 361-1 of the Criminal Code of Belarus);

  • defamation and public insult of Lukashenka (Part 2 of Art. 367, Part 2 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Belarus);

In addition, Putila and Rudzika are accused of:

  • conspiracy to seize state power by unconstitutional means (part 1 of article 357 of the Criminal Code of Belarus);

  • financing of extremist activities (Part 2 of Art. 361-2 of the Criminal Code of Belarus);

  • discrediting the Republic of Belarus (Article 369-1 of the Criminal Code of Belarus).

  • Stepan Putil is also charged with organizing the activities of a terrorist organization (Part 1, Article 290-5 of the Criminal Code of Belarus).
