He has been working as a tutor for almost 30 years

Livyant studied at the Faculty of Physics of BSU.

Teacher of the highest category, teaches physics and mathematics.

He has been working as a tutor since 1995, he became a school teacher in 1988.

He is 56 years old, married, with two daughters.

In 2020, Livyant entered the first list of the Coordination Council.

One of the founders of the educational center "100 points"

Livyant also runs a training center that started operating in 2012.

Now it is a network of educational centers in Minsk and other major cities of Belarus.

There, schoolchildren are taught various subjects, including preparation for CT and admission to the lyceum.

Children of different ages, both preschoolers and high school students, can visit the Livyanta center.

In addition to general education subjects, the center teaches programming, robotics, and logic.

The center cooperates with the IT company ERAM.

Pupils of the center became prize-winners and winners of robotics competitions.

More than a thousand schoolchildren, including several dozen shoemakers, were trained in "100 Points".

Hundreds of graduates entered the prestigious universities of Belarus and the world.

In 2018, the "100 Points" center became the winner in one of the nominations of the state competition "Entrepreneur of the Year".

Fought with competitors

In 2019-2020, the tutoring center "100 points" had a conflict with another educational center "KursSey", which is 5 years younger.

Livyant then wrote a statement against competitors who, in his opinion, were "cutting" under a more well-known center and used a similar naming in their work.

The application was considered by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade.

It came to the conclusion that the law was not violated, Livyant's competitors were not punished in any way.

Criticized the Belarusian education system

"The Ministry of Education considers tutors enemies, and me as enemy No. 1," Livyant said in an interview with "Nasha Niva" in 2020.

Livyant analyzed the problems of the Belarusian education system in comments and discussions in the media, as well as on his page in social networks.

One of the last issues he raised was the proposed introduction of a centralized exam in 2023, which Livyant compared to centralized testing.

The teacher criticized the system of counting points during the CT, the low average score with which graduates enter higher education institutions, the return of school uniforms and "educational and production plants" to schools.

Protected lyceums and private schools from closure.

Evgeny Livyant also spoke about other high-profile school events.

For example, about the tragedy in Staupets, when a schoolboy killed a student and a teacher during a lesson, and about a scandalous case when a teacher attacked a student with a desk.

He criticized the previous Minister of Education Ihor Karpenko not only for his decisions, but also for his communication style.

After that, inspections came to the tutoring center.

Here are some of Yevgeny Livyant's public statements:

  • "What the Ministry of Education is doing is beyond common sense, morality and the law."

  • "I think that the main goal of the reform is to hide the results of previous reforms that led to the failure of the school education system."

  • "The Ministry of Education has come up with an unviable hybrid of CT and USEE".

  • "Constant changes in the system of graduation and entrance exams remind me of a store where the quality of goods on the shelves is getting worse, there are fewer of them, and the management is endlessly changing cash registers and cashiers, and re-gluing labels in the hope of improving the state of things."

The teacher often spoke ironically:

"According to unverified information, the Ministry of Education plans to add permission for applicants to 4 tips during the exam to the new rules of the university entrance campaign:

1) one call to the tutor;

2) the possibility to remove two and a half wrong answers in one of the problems of part A;

3) permission to count one incorrect answer as correct;

4) help of the audience in answering one of the questions of the test".

Several people noted that Livyant dealt with the issues of the education system in Belarus, but did not criticize the state's policy in general.

"A crystal clear person who loves children and cares about what is happening in the education system.

As for political inclinations, he is a supporter of our strong state and statehood," his acquaintance anonymously described Svaboda Livyanta.

It was settled with chocolates

Livyants as a teacher is known for his gentleness and strictness at the same time.

He jokes a lot with his students, but at the same time he can leave for extra hours to solve problems or speak quite harshly about the student's results.

Motivates children to study by threatening a job at McDonald's.

Instead of a school sign, he could use a striped print, like the traffic police.

The "currency" used in the educational center is chocolates.

It is already a tradition when a teacher bets with a student how many points he will pass the CT.

The loser gives the difference in chocolates to the winner.

Mandatory condition: chocolates must weigh exactly 100 grams.

There was a whole safe with sweet gifts in Yevgeny Barysovich's office.

Children also allow themselves to joke with the teacher.

For example, they gave him the nickname "Grinch", because he also spoils people's holidays.

The reason was that the center offered children to attend classes for free during the winter vacation, and many parents delayed their children from studying during the vacation.

This dialogue was narrated by Livyant on his Facebook page:

"- Evgeny Borisovich, let's make an agreement.

I agree to work 3 hours on Tuesdays, but on Thursdays you will let me go after 2.

- Masha, you have already passed from the stage of denial and anger to the stage of bargaining.

Soon we will reach the fifth stage - acceptance.

- Evgeny Borisovich, the last stage is not acceptance, but revenge, - said the girl and smiled charmingly.

What is known about the detention of Yevgeny Livyant

He was detained on December 27 during a lesson.

"Participation in protests" and "distribution of extremist materials" are rejected.

Security forces forced Livyants to record a video where he says what he is guilty of, in their opinion, announces his salary and lists his property.

In addition, there is a separate inspection of the rehearsal center "100 points", which, "not being an educational institution, actually carried out licensed activities with the help of a conspiracy with the private school "Apelsin".
