The trial on the criminal case of Elchin Samadov, the former advisor of the Zardab District Court, who was accused of bribery and fraud, has ended.

APA informs that according to the accusation, Elchin Samadov, a consultant on civil affairs, received 5,000 AZN from a woman who wanted to deprive her ex-husband of paternity rights during a divorce to deliver it to the chairman of the court.

However, that money was not given to the chairman of the court.

The accused person said in his testimony that the offer to give money to the judge came from Ganira Pickup, who wanted to deprive his ex-husband of paternity rights.

The woman complained to the law enforcement agencies because the decision she wanted was not issued.

The criminal case was heard in the Ujar District Court.

The court annulled the charge issued under Article 178.2.3 (fraud) of the Criminal Code, taking into account the fact that the accused person fully paid the damages and that the other party was not a complainant.

Elchin Samadov was found guilty of inciting bribery and sentenced to 3 years of restriction of liberty (electronic bracelet).

E. Samadov filed an appeal against the sentence.

He said that his statement was distorted in the protocols of the first instance court.

In addition, he wants to be acquitted on the charge of bribery.

The Court of Appeals replaced the 3-year restriction of freedom with a fine of 6,000 manats.
