The trial of the former head of "Baku Steel Company" Rasim Mammadov in the criminal case has ended.

APA reports that the verdict was read in the process held at the Baku Court of Serious Crimes.

According to the verdict, Rasim Mammadov was found guilty and sentenced to 14 years in prison.

The businessman will serve his sentence in a strict regime penitentiary.

Prosecutor Rasim Mammadova asked for a 15-year prison sentence.

He asked for acquittal, saying that he had nothing to do with the accusation he made in the court.

Rasim Mammadov, who was the head of "Baku Steel Company", was arrested by the State Security Service.

He is charged with 179.4 of the Criminal Code (embezzlement or embezzlement, especially when it is committed by causing a large amount of damage), 193.3.2 (false entrepreneurship, especially with obtaining a large amount of income), 308.2 (abuse of official powers, when it causes serious consequences) and 313- is charged with articles (forgery of position).

The damage caused in the criminal case was estimated at 185 million manats.
