New fines are defined for changing or copying the IMEI number of a mobile device.

APA reports that this was reflected in the newly proposed article to the Code of Administrative Offenses discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis.

According to the project, individuals will be fined from 300 to 400 manats, officials from 1,000 to 1,500 manats, and legal entities from 3,000 to 4,000 manats for changing or transferring a copy of the IMEI number of a mobile device in order to avoid the registration of a mobile device.

Individuals will be fined from 600 to 800 manats, officials from 2,000 manats to 2,500 manats, and legal entities from 9,000 to 12,000 manats for the repeated commission of the mentioned error by the person who received administrative punishment within 1 year from the date of entry into force of the decision on administrative punishment.

If the law is adopted, it will enter into force on April 1, 2023.

The draft law was voted on and adopted in the third reading.
