Regular monitoring is carried out in 7 landslide areas on the Absheron peninsula - Bayil valley, Badamdar, Zigh-1, Karachukhur areas, Lake Zali, Nubar massif, Guneshli plateau, as well as in the regions.

APA reports that Ali Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of the Geological Exploration Agency, said that there is currently no serious activation in the mentioned landslide areas.

After last year's landslide in Badamdar area, strengthening and restoration works are ongoing.

Weak activity was recorded in Lake Zali, Nübar area and partly in the Guneshli plateau.

According to A. Aliyev, landslides occur due to man-made, geological and seasonal reasons.

"Seasonally intensive and large-scale precipitation can create activity in landslide processes.

"After the rains that occurred in recent weeks, no serious changes in the dynamics of exogenous geological processes have been observed."

The chairman of the agency also said that despite the occurrence of local activations after the rains in the regions, no serious changes were registered in landslide areas, no new landslide zones were observed.
