In October 2018, the Princess of Wales attended a lavish state banquet with the Royal Family of the Netherlands during their visit to the UK.

The brooch pinned to Kate's dress was an Order of the Royal Family, a personal gift from the monarch.

There is also the possibility that Kate received a brooch from the late Queen and, wearing it on Remembrance Day, decided to honor the memory of Elizabeth II at this touching event.
