[Reporter Tu Yingru/Taipei Report] "Gathering: 111 Years National Art Exhibition Photography Category" exhibition will be exhibited at the National Center of Photography from now until February 28, 2023. It is the first time that the National Art Exhibition has been held since 100 years ago It will be exhibited in institutions other than the National Museum of Art.

Since 2011, the "National Art Exhibition Photography Category" has provided a platform for video creators to observe and learn from each other through review and publication mechanisms such as call for submissions, selection, awards, and exhibitions. It has been held for 12 sessions so far.

A total of 159 entries were submitted for this year's photography competition. After a prudent preliminary review process, one gold medal, one silver medal, one bronze medal and 16 shortlisted prizes were selected. A total of 19 award-winning works were selected. The Taipei Pavilion will exhibit 17 of them, bringing together the creations of the new generation of photography in Taiwan.

Wang Jiazheng, deputy curator of the National Art Museum, said that since the launch of the National Art Exhibition, photography has always been one of the categories with the largest number of entries and the most intense competition. Through the annual selection and exhibition mechanism, photography creation is continuously encouraged and outstanding talents are promoted. , so that different forms of creative ideas can stimulate and dialogue with each other.

The works exhibited in this exhibition explore each artist's individual life experience, and interpret their observation and perception of the surroundings, as well as their care for society and the environment, through video creation.

Winner of the 2011 National Art Exhibition Photography Gold Medal Dai Zhendong's work "Architectural Research" includes side views of nine urban buildings, based on the circle in the center of the picture, presented "symmetrically", and the colors are presented according to the priority of light and shadow The movement and stillness in the flowing time seem to give the graphic architecture a time dimension.
