The duty of a lawyer is established: to comply with the law;

adhere to generally accepted norms of professional morality, "at all times maintaining the honor and dignity of one's profession, as well as personal honor and dignity";

to show respect to representatives of state bodies and other organizations, including those that exercise control over the provision of legal services, "to be punctual, correct, responsible";

not to commit actions that discredit the legal profession;

constantly expand and deepen their knowledge in the field of law;

when performing professional duties, follow a business manner in communication and a business style of clothing.

"A lawyer must strengthen respect for the profession, its essence and public purpose, contribute to the preservation and increase of its prestige," the resolution reads.

The legal act was adopted in the development of the law of October 14 No. 213-Z "On Licensing".

Since 2020, dozens of lawyers have lost their licenses as a result of repression in Belarus.

For example, in two years, all lawyers of Viktar Babarika - Alexander and Yevgeny Pylchankau, Dzmitry Laevskii, Natalya Matskevich, as well as lawyer Maria Kalesnikova Lyudmila Kazak - were deprived of their licenses.

In total, as of November 2022, 70 lawyers were deprived of their licenses, another 250 lawyers themselves decided to leave the bar.
