The palace announced it would take place on June 17, 2023, six weeks after Charles' coronation, scheduled for May 6, 2023.

Note that King Charles' actual birthday is in November, but like his late mother Queen Elizabeth II, he will celebrate in June because the weather is best in the summer.

It is believed that this tradition originated during the reign of King George II in 1748.

George II was born in October, but it was more convenient to celebrate his birthday in the warm season, so June was chosen.

The holiday should fall on a Saturday, usually between June 11 and 17.

The Trooping the Color parade has become a major event in the royal calendar during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

According to tradition, more than 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians will take part in such a parade.

While some members of the royal family will take part on horseback, others will travel in a carriage from Buckingham Palace to the Horse Guards, before King Charles will take a salute on parade.

Members of the royal family will then gather on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the Royal Air Force and Red Arrows fly by.

In June 2022, Queen Elizabeth II stepped onto the palace balcony for the last time to greet the public.

Later it became known that her second appearance in a green coat, which was so remembered by many, took place thanks to the fact that she was persuaded by Charles.

As we assumed, this exit was her last appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
