[Reporter Hong Meixiu/Zhushi Report] The Hsinchu City Hall held a new book release ceremony for "Zheng Qiongjuan-the first generation of female painters after the war in Taiwan" and a painting donation ceremony on the 21st. Deputy Mayor Li Shizhen accepted Zheng Qiongjuan's donation and gave back Certificate of Appreciation.

Li Shizhen said that the painting <气> took 2 to 3 years to paint, and it is composed of 3 100P paintings, with a market value of more than 7.5 million yuan.

According to the Cultural Affairs Bureau, through the bold and unrestrained colors in Mr. Zheng’s brushwork, the painting <气> shows the harmony of the universe between the micro and the macro, revealing the sincerity and simplicity of self-confidence. It is one of the main works of Mr. Zheng’s oriental painting series.

Li Shizhen pointed out that Zheng Qiongjuan is the first generation of female painters in Taiwan after the war. She is 91 years old this year. Her unique life experience and attitude towards life have created a unique painting style.

Wu Liu, president of the May Art Association, said that the May Art Association was established in 1957, and Mr. Zheng was the creator of the painting association, leading Taiwan's art to modernize and connect with the world.

Bai Xuelan, the author of the book "Zheng Qiongjuan-Taiwan's first generation of female painters after the war", said that she has known Teacher Zheng for more than 30 years, and hopes to convey Teacher Zheng's understanding of life, artistic pursuit, and learning mood to readers through this book .

Zheng Qiongjuan was born during the Japanese colonial period. Her father, Zheng Guochuan, was the first generation of Western medicine in Taiwan. Influenced by Li Shiqiao and other predecessors, he opened the door of modern art.

The year after he graduated from Normal University, Liao Jichun recommended him and Chen Jingrong to participate in the exhibition of the May Painting Society, and he was also a founding member of the exhibition with Guo Dongrong, Liu Guosong, Li Fangzhi, and Guo Yulun.
