The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva commented on the peaceful actions around the Khankendi - Lachin road.

According to the information given to APA by the Office of the Ombudsman, the Ombudsman said that the peaceful actions by the representatives of the civil society institutions of Azerbaijan around the Khankendi-Lachin road have been going on for the 9th day.

"The aim of the action is to prevent the illegal exploitation and looting of natural resources by Armenia in the territories of Azerbaijan and serious pollution of the environment caused by these activities.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan is committed to its obligations and has declared its readiness to help residents of Armenian origin living in its territory if any necessary needs arise.

One of the initiatives that proves this approach is the creation of a hotline for humanitarian aid needs in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan.

At the same time, it is clear from regular live broadcasts on TV channels, as well as from videos circulated in social networks and the press, that despite the claims made, the road is open and Russian peacekeepers temporarily stationed in the area are carrying the burden of security along the corridor.

Thus, there are no obstacles to the delivery of necessary goods and the free passage for humanitarian purposes. The passage of family members of the peacekeepers has also been made possible through this road. Also, conditions have been created for the free passage of emergency medical vehicles, as well as vehicles of the International Committee of the Red Cross through the Khankendi-Lachin road. .

As an ombudsman, emphasizing the need to avoid biased approaches, to refrain from publishing information that does not reflect the truth about foreign countries, international organizations, foreign media and civil society institutions, to demonstrate the usual sensitivity in relation to Armenia's steps that continuously undermine peace by causing provocations in the post-war period, to restore peace in the region. I urge you to support and take the initiative to increase mutual trust".
