Working time norms and production calendar for 2023 were approved by the Decision of the Board of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population dated December 15, 2022.

According to the information given to APA by the ministry, the working time norm for 2023 states that the Labor Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On determining the days of Novruz, Ramadan and Qurban holidays for 2023" dated 9th of 2022 According to Decision No. 438 of December 2023, the following days are not considered working days:

January 1, 2 – New Year holiday;


January 20 – National Day of Mourning;


March 8 – Women's Day;


March 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 – Nowruz holiday;


April 21, 22 – Ramadan holiday;


May 9 – Victory over Fascism Day;


May 28 – Independence Day;


June 15 - National Liberation Day of the Azerbaijani people;


June 26 – Day of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan;


June 28, 29 – Eid al-Adha;


November 8 – Victory Day;


November 9 – National Flag Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan;


December 31 - Day of Solidarity of Azerbaijanis of the World.

In 2023, due to the fact that interweekly days off coincide with holidays that are not considered working days, January 3, 4, April 24, May 29 in a five-day work week, and January 3, May 29 in a six-day work week are rest days.

February 2023 consists of 28 calendar days, and the year consists of 365 calendar days.

In 2023, there will be 240 working days in a five-day working week (7 of which are pre-holiday and pre-National Day of Mourning), 109 non-working days (4 of which are determined to coincide with non-working holidays) made), there are 19 holidays that are not considered working days (4 of which coincide with rest days) and 1 National Day of Mourning.

In Azerbaijan, the duration of daily normal working hours cannot exceed 8 hours, and the duration of weekly normal working hours corresponding to daily normal working hours cannot exceed 40 hours.

As a rule, a five-day working week with two days off is established.

The working time norm of 2023 is determined based on an 8-hour working day for a 40-hour five-day work week.

The annual norm of working time in a 40-hour work week for 2023 is 1913 hours.

When a six-day working week is applied, if the weekly norm is 40 hours, the duration of the daily working time cannot exceed 7 hours, and the duration of the working day immediately following the day off cannot exceed 6 hours.

For employees working a 40-hour work week in workplaces with a six-day work week, the annual working time norm of 1,913 hours calculated on a five-day work week in 2023 should be applied.
