An event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the birth of Lieutenant Colonel Elshad Guliyev of the special operations structure, who heroically died during the anti-terrorist operation in Ganja on April 6, 2012, was held at the Cultural Center of the State Security Service (SSC).

According to the information given to APA by the service, in addition to family members of the deceased, employees of the State Security Service, veterans of security agencies, cadets of the Heydar Aliyev Academy of the Service and soldiers of the military unit of the Security Service took part in the anniversary event.

Speakers at the event talked about the professionalism of Elshad Guliyev during his work in the security agencies, the special heroism he showed in operations, and his high human qualities. They said that he spent 17 years of his life in these agencies, and that the examples of bravery and sacrifice he showed for the Motherland are always an example for the younger generation, and that young people are always ready for military service. - they said that it played an important role in educating them in the spirit of patriotism.

It was noted that under the relevant decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, lieutenant colonel Elshad Guliyev was awarded medals "For Bravery", "For the Motherland" and posthumously with the "Flag of Azerbaijan" order at different times, which is a clear manifestation of the high appreciation given to his services at the state level.

After that, the participants of the event watched the documentary film "Special Purpose Hero" about the life and activities of Elshad Guliyev, produced by "Trend" International Information Agency with the organizational support of DTX.

Later, the guests were presented with an artistic program prepared by the Cultural Center of DTX.
