In recent times, there has been an increase in the tendency to use the surname ending "zada".

Professor Sayali Sadygova, head of the "Terminology" department at the Nasimi Institute of Linguistics of ANAS and vice-chairman of the Terminology Commission under the Presidium of ANAS, said this to APA.

The professor compared the surname endings that are unique to us with those that are not:

Surnames are also determined based on special items. For example, the endings "ov", "yev" do not reflect our antiquity and history. The ending "li" is the most common among them today.

The ending "Zade" is mostly found and preserved in people who came from South Azerbaijan, or in people whose descendants are related to it.
