[Reporter Tu Yingru/Taipei Report] Taipei City Cultural Affairs Bureau held the "Art to Promote People-Taipei City 110 Year Registered Intangible Cultural Assets Certification Ceremony" yesterday. Chen Xiasheng, the preserver of "Knot", commends the hard work and contribution of two Taiwanese artists to maintain and carry forward traditional culture. At the same time, the two artists and the Dalongdong Baoan Palace are exhibited in the Bopiliao Historic District.

Chen Xiasheng formed an indissoluble bond with Shengjie because of her service in the National Palace Museum in her early years.

From ancient books and antiquities, he studied and deliberated the knitting skills, and at the same time made good use of his background in science and technology to scientifically analyze the logic of knot lines and record the knot knitting methods with geometric algebraic formulas.

She also combines multiple media such as metal, lacquer, and oil paint to create many new knot works, endowing traditional techniques with new artistic value.

Chen Xiasheng mentioned that it is not her who inherits the knotting skills, but related books and works circulated. I am very grateful to the relevant units for their assistance in publishing books and translating them into foreign language versions such as English and German.

Yang Lianying graduated from the fifth stage of the Dapeng Theater School, majoring in Wudan. She has learned from many famous teachers and masters, and inherited countless old and unpopular operas that are almost lost. She is currently the most experienced Peking Opera Wudan performer in Taiwan.

She has devoted herself to teaching opera since the 1970s, and has integrated the essence of Wudan performing arts into other traditional operas.

Yang Lianying said that this award is not only an encouragement to Peking Opera practitioners, but also an encouragement to new blood learning Peking Opera. She said that she will be consistent and continue to pass on what she has learned all her life.
