The district police department received information about a theft from one of the houses located in Tulu village of Balakan district.
In the evening, an unknown person entered the house and stole 12,000 US dollars, 3,000 manats in cash and 2,600 manats worth of jewelry.
According to information provided to APA by the Sheki regional group of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the operation-search measure carried out by police officers, the victim's neighbor, Parviz Umudov, who was previously convicted for the same act, was detained.
In his statement, the detainee said that he entered the house knowing that his neighbor's close relatives were attending a wedding ceremony.
During the preliminary investigation, it was established that after realizing his intention, P. Umudov hid the gold in the yard of the school where he studied before, and took the money and went to Baku.
He bought expensive clothes by spending part of the money he stole in the capital in entertainment centers and the rest in branded clothing stores.
With the ongoing measures, the gold and jewelry he hid were also taken as material evidence and submitted to the investigation.
A criminal case has been opened regarding the fact, and Parviz Umudov's involvement in other illegal acts is being investigated.
