[Reporter Ling Meixue/Taipei Report] The Cultural Team of the Representative Office in Spain cooperates with the Madrid Film Festival (Filmadrid) to hold the "Taiwan Film Lecture" for the first time at La Casa Encendida in Madrid from December 13th to 16th (Curso de cine taiwanés), planning 4 major themes with film screenings, the film festival director Nuria Cubas, well-known film critic Javier H. Estrada and film professor Gabriel Doménech González jointly introduced the characteristics of Taiwanese films.

The first of the four major themes, "Nostalgia and Surprise", focuses on emotional analysis, and is accompanied by the screening of "One Day" (2010) directed by Hou Jiran and supervised by Hou Hsiao-hsien; Dangerous Youth" (1969), the most pungent and avant-garde Taiwanese film, talks about the morally corrupt capitalist society through the triangular relationship of prostitutes, pimps and bustards; Scene 3 "The Tempted Heart" ", focusing on female directors who have filmed Taiwanese female perspectives, accompanied by a screening of Zhang Sylvia's "Nian Nian" (2015); the last "Light and Shadow When Returning Home", focusing on the most frequently discussed issues of rooting and returning to the place of birth in Taiwanese films, accompanied by a screening "The Wandering Dog Man" (2007) directed by Chen Xinyi.

Zhang Youxuan, head of the Western Cultural Group, said that this is the first time that Taiwan has held Curso de cine taiwanés in Madrid. He hopes that through the screening of films and accompanying lectures, the Spanish public can learn about the diversity of contemporary Taiwanese films through the lens.

The Cultural Office in the West stated that the Madrid Film Festival is organized by the local "La Asociación Cultural Pasajes de Cine" (La Asociación Cultural Pasajes de Cine) in Madrid, which was established in 2013 and is committed to promoting film aesthetics and avant-garde films in Madrid.

The Madrid Film Festival, which has been held since 2015, is selected by international film critic Javier H. Estrada and screened in well-known art and cultural venues in Madrid.
