From the beginning of 2022 until today, 3 tons and 320 kilograms of various types of narcotics and 323 kilograms of psychotropic substances were removed from the illegal circulation by the internal affairs bodies.

As a result of the next operation carried out by the police officers, a large amount of narcotics and psychotropic substances were prevented from being brought to the capital.

APA was informed about this by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the information, Ilham Samadov, a resident of the capital city, was detained on the basis of operational information received by the General Anti-Narcotics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, because he was suspected of organizing the illegal circulation of drugs.

24 kilograms, including 7 kilograms of heroin, 8 kilograms of marijuana, 6 kilograms of methamphetamine and 3 kilograms of hashish tar, were found on him and in his house located in Surakhani region.

During the initial interrogation, Ilham Samadov stated that he obtained the narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances after being smuggled to the territory of Bilasuvar district and brought them to Baku city in order to convey their identity to other members of the group under investigation.

As a result of the investigations, it was proved that Ilham Samadov is one of the main suppliers of drugs in the country.

A criminal case has been initiated under the relevant article of the Criminal Code regarding the fact, and Ilham Samadov has been placed under preventive detention.

Operational measures are being continued to detain other members of the drug network to which this person belongs.
