Axel Rose has vowed to stop throwing his microphone into the audience during concerts after an audience member was injured at a show in Australia, BTA reported, citing DPA.

The Guns 'n' Roses frontman, who turned 60 this year, traditionally ends his concerts by allowing a fan in the audience to catch the microphone he's throwing.

During the band's concert in Adelaide on Tuesday, fan Rebecca Howe was hit in the face by a thrown microphone, according to Australian media reports.

Photos of the victim in local media show her with bruises under her eyes and injuries to her nose.

Axel Rose tweeted about the incident: "If this is true, it's obvious we don't want anyone to get hurt...at any of our shows, anywhere."

"Having thrown a mic at the end of each of our shows for over 30 years now, we've always felt that this is a signature part at the end of shows that fans want and know they'll have a chance to catch. However, in In the name of public safety, from now on we will refrain from throwing microphones or anything at fans during our performances."

Rose notes that some have tried to paint the incident in a "negative and irresponsible light," which "couldn't be further from the truth."
