Secretary General of the UN Antonio Guterres addressed the appeal on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

According to APA, the application states:

"This year, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is dedicated to the role of innovation in building an accessible and just world.

Our world faces a cascade of crises that disproportionately affect people with disabilities.

We need transformative solutions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and leave no one behind.

This requires greater collaboration between the public and public sectors to develop strategies for and with people with disabilities.

The cornerstone of this cooperation should be the active participation of people with disabilities in all their diversity and their inclusion in every decision-making process.

Innovation and technology can be powerful tools for inclusion.

They can expand access to information, education and lifelong learning opportunities.

These tools can also open up new opportunities for the participation of persons with disabilities on an equal basis in labor and society as a whole.

But to take full advantage of technology's potential, we must bridge the digital divide and protect human rights in the digital space.

The UN Inclusion Strategy for Persons with Disabilities provides a concrete roadmap for progress in this area and for ensuring accessibility in all areas of the organization's work.

At headquarters and in all the countries where we operate, we value, remove and promote digital accessibility and lead by example in the inclusion of people with disabilities.

Let's work together on such a day and every day to find innovative solutions to build an accessible and fair world for all."
