The Serbian plum brandy "Shlivovica" was included today in the UNESCO list of Intangible Heritage of Humanity, the Ministry of Culture of Serbia announced, as quoted by the Tanjug Agency.

"Public practices and knowledge related to the preparation and preparation of the traditional plum drink 'shlivovica'" have been declared an element of Serbia's intangible cultural heritage, the ministry said.

Making homemade brandy is twice as expensive

In 2021, the Ministry of Culture nominated Slivovitsa to UNESCO's Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The decision to include Serbian plum brandy in the list was made by the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage at the meeting held in Rabat, Morocco.
