A total of 72 people who were involved in the illegal circulation and sale of drugs, fraud, theft, robbery, extortion and hooliganism were detained by the officers of the Shirvan City Police Department during the operations conducted in the city during the months of October-November.

According to the information provided to APA by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 47 of those persons were arrested as a result of police operations aimed at preventing the illegal circulation of drugs.

34 of them were arrested by the court, and 13 were placed under the control of the police.

About 2 kilograms of marijuana, 1 kilogram and more than 300 grams of heroin, different weights of methamphetamine, opium, and hundreds of narcotic pills were removed from illegal circulation.


During the mentioned period, during the operations carried out by the employees of the City Police Department, 7 people who committed thefts from houses and shops located in the city were detained and handed over for investigation.

In addition, 1 who abused the trust of citizens and made false promises that he would provide them with work and fraudulently seized 12,000 manats from the victims, 1 who stood in front of banks and approached elderly people in the name of helping them and seized their money, 3 who committed robbery and hooliganism, 1 person who demanded money with threats was also detained and brought to justice.


Investigations are being continued in the Investigation Department of the Shirvan City Police Department regarding all the discovered facts.
