The trial of Amin Huseynov, Habil Badalov, Alovsat Mazandarov, Sabahir Farzaliyev, Yasin Amirli, who were accused of creating a fraud scheme and seizing large amounts of citizens' funds by creating a network in the form of a financial pyramid in social networks, has ended.

APA reports that the verdict was read at the Baku Court of Serious Crimes in a session chaired by judge Azad Majidov.

According to the verdict, Amin Huseynov was sentenced to 2 years, Habil Badalov, Alovsat Mazandarov, Sabahir Farzaliyev and Yasin Amirli to 1 year and 6 months.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has recently received numerous complaints from the victims that they created a fraud scheme in the form of a financial pyramid, mainly on social networks, and seized a large amount of citizens' funds.

During the investigation, it was determined that in recent times in Azerbaijan, especially among internet users, there is a preference for people who fell into the network of the "Crowd-1" fraud scheme, which was founded in one of the foreign countries in 2018.

As a result of the operations carried out by the employees of the General Administration, the persons leading the "Crowd-1" fraud scheme spread throughout the country have been identified.

Operational and technical measures were taken in connection with Habil Badalov, who led it by organizing the mentioned international fraud pyramid scheme, and five other persons, and evidence of the gang's criminal acts was collected.

The leader of the network, Habil Badalov, and its members Amin Huseynov, Alovsat Mazandarov, Sabahir Farzaliyev, Yasin Amirli and Goychek Dunyamaliyeva were detained and brought to the Head Office in a short time, and they admitted in their initial explanations that Crowd-1 was a pyramid fraud scheme.

When their offices in Baku and Ganja were inspected, electronic evidence important to the case was discovered and taken away.

A criminal case was initiated against the detained persons under Article 178.3.2 of the Criminal Code (fraud by causing a large amount of damage).
