The house of a large family from Kalynyvka, which was damaged by aerial bombardment in February, has been completely restored.

A team of volunteers, patrons and builders was able to do it in record time.

On February 28, a Russian aerial bomb fell a few meters from the house of a family raising three adopted children.

The blast wave almost destroyed the house that the couple had been building for 20 years.

After the winter tragedy, the family lived in an almost destroyed house for two weeks.

Then the father and the children began to put things in order little by little, but it was not up to them to rebuild the house after the catastrophic destruction on their own.

Volunteers of the "Media Defense" public organization, which helps Ukrainians to return home, came to the rescue.

About 10 people participated in the restoration of the house.

The owner of the house admits that she could not believe until the end that her home would be repaired for free and quickly.

But instead, the family received not disappointment, but a house from scratch.

It took the builders only one and a half months to restore the destroyed home.

"The roof had to be completely replaced, it was completely destroyed. There was almost no facade. The roof itself was completely collapsed, broken. All the slate was broken, all the windows were broken. At first glance, the house had to be demolished," say the builders.

An important task for specialists was not just to repair the building.

In order for the family to be able to call these walls home again, it was also necessary to make internal repairs - and this is additional time and money.

An extremely difficult task, but it did not frighten the "Media defense" volunteers.

In the summer, they started looking for destroyed houses and developers who would be able to restore them on a voluntary basis.

Volodymyr Khomenko, a philanthropist from Vinnytsia, was the first to respond, providing both labor and building materials.

The construction team admits that they tried to do everything so that the Lukyants family could feel comfortable again.

While the renovation was going on, Svitlana and her children lived with relatives, and Leonid helped the builders as much as he could.

"I liked everything: the roof is wonderful, the rooms are luxurious. This is just a new house, there is a completely different energy here. I have even more strength. After the bombing, I had no idea how to continue living, how to raise it all. And now we have there are many plans - we want to plant flowers and flower beds on the street. And dad wants to build a barn," Svitlana Lukyanets shared her plans.

Formally, the house was simply renovated.

In fact, they returned the home to the people.

Finally, the family feels comfortable in their own home.

Again, like before the war.

"I used to be afraid to go into my own room, but now I really like it here, and it's not scary anymore. I was afraid because the wall was broken, it rained a lot, sometimes I thought it might fall on me too," says Valeria, the daughter of Leonid and Svitlana.

Now, thanks to the efforts of caring people, the family meets winter in their own home.

"In Kalynivka, we finished the restoration of the house, we did it in the shortest possible time. We covered it with a new roof, restored the walls," said Oleksandr Dubinsky, the founder of the "Media Defense" project.
