"About 1,700 people were arrested in Iran during the recent protests."

APA reports that Jala Tabrizli, an activist on ethnic issues and women's rights, co-founder of the "Erk" human rights protection organization, said this at the event called "Where is Urmu Lake?"

He said that currently there are 500 arrested people on their list:

"Also, there are those who were shot and killed. In total, 2-3 thousand people are detained during the year due to protests. We regularly inform international organizations about them."
