Brazilian soccer legend, Edson Arantes 'Pelé', who is considered one of the best players of all time, has been hospitalized in Sao Paulo after suffering from tumors, heart and mental problems, the country's media reports.

The ESPN Brazil network explains that Pele is suffering from many problems which caused him to be unable to eat while waiting for additional tests.

Pele, who is 82 years old, has been suffering from cancer and doctors are concerned that his treatment may not be effective, reports ESPN.

Kely Nascimento, the daughter of the legend ignored media reports, said "My father is hospitalized, he is controlling his medication," she said in a post through Instagram, which did not provide specific details.

Pele was hospitalized in September 2021, when he underwent surgery to remove a tumor in the large intestine and spent several days in special care.

He was later released while undergoing treatment.
