The Criminal Code determines the procedure for considering convictions resulting from court sentences of recognized foreign countries during the recidivism of crimes and when imposing punishment.

APA reports that this was reflected in the proposed amendment to the Criminal Code, which was discussed at today's session of the Milli Majlis.

The draft law was prepared for the purpose of implementation of Article 11 (previous decisions) of the Council of Europe Convention on the Legalization, Search, Arrest, Confiscation of Proceeds of Crime and the Financing of Terrorism.

Pursuant to Article 11 of the Convention, each Party shall take such legislative and other necessary measures as may be necessary to ensure that final decisions taken against a natural or legal person in the other Party to the Convention are taken into account in sentencing in relation to the criminal acts established in accordance with this Convention.

At the same time, in this project, it is proposed to add to the Criminal Code the mechanisms for imposing a criminal-legal measure for a new crime on a legal entity against whom a criminal-legal measure was previously applied.

The draft law was voted on and adopted in the third reading.
